Novatech Production Services was built on an entrepreneurial spirit of two young brothers, Leko and Milenko Novakovic in 2000, who set out to create an alternative solution in the Adelaide audiovisual market.

With no business training and little business experience, they needed an accountant but weren’t really sure what they were looking for, and due to the business infancy were worried about wasting advisors’ time.

When they were recommended to and met Geoff Hattam, they instantly knew they had found their guy. Geoff understood their industry, was relaxed in nature, believed in their vision and offered to help them get started. In hindsight Geoff helped them lay the financial and business foundations for considerable growth.

Hattam McCarthy Reeves initially assisted with basic accounting services. However this soon extended to advice regarding legal matters and appropriate referrals to contacts that are still used by Novatech today. Geoff helped to keep the brothers level-headed and focused during boom times and realistic about the ebbs and flows and consequences for cash flow and growth.

This early advice assisted in significant growth and soon Geoff identified the need for more in-depth analysis of their accounts and financials to assist them in developing strategies to continue to expand the business.

As a result a range of strategies were developed, which included quarantining areas of the business for risk purposes; reviewing financing options for infrastructure; and developing business plans and cash flow budgets. In 2009 Novatech purchased a 5,000 sqm premises at Underdale, a long way from their parents’ shed in 2000.

Staging 300-400 small and large events each year throughout Australia, Leko and Milenko are living their passion. Hattam McCarthy Reeves supported them from the beginning and continues to be their primary business advisor through years of understanding and trust.
