Off market transfer ban for SMSFs not to proceed

The Federal Government has recently omitted the proposed ban of off-market transfers between SMSF's and related parties from being tabled in parliament. The ban was scheduled to commence from 1 July 2013, but will now no longer take place - which is good news for SMSF's. 

 

RBA leaves rates on hold but for how long?

The Reserve Bank have left official interest rates on hold this month, despite continuing pressure to lower them. In the past week, I have attended two functions hosted by banks, and their economists are forecasting a further cut between now and year end. The looming Federal election is likely to prevent a change in August or September so July is still a possibility.
